Khloe Kardashian is usually standing in her sister Kim Kardashian's shadow -- but not this month! The 26-year-old reality star appears on the cover of YRB Magazine in blood-red lipstick, a shock of red hair… and a leather bondage mask covered in metal studs. Talk about making a statement!
Inside the magazine, Khloe models for an edgy fashion photo shoot that clearly takes its inspiration from pop stars Lady Gaga and Rihanna. In one picture, she wears giant spiked platform heels, a see-through lace bodysuit, and no pants. In another, she wears a gigantic tulle skirt split down the middle, paired with a tiny swimsuit and a pointy-shouldered bolero jacket. So what inspired this daring new look?
"It's so different from anything I've ever done, which was what made the shoot so fun for me!" Kardashian gushed on her blog. "YRB is known for being very wild and crazy with the content they publish… I love experimenting with different looks and this was the perfect opportunity for me to do that."
Khloe also blogged that her dramatic red hair at the People's Choice Awards was inspired by the photo shoot. "I had been considering it, but then the shoot went so well, so I decided to go for it that day!" she writes. (She dyed her hair back after just over a week.)
Khloe Kardashian hinted at her wild side two years ago, when she posed naked for a PETA campaign. Recently, she's been hounded by pregnancy rumors (although she's denied them). Is Khloe trying to get in one last crazy photo shoot before her first baby? Or is she just trying to upstage her attention-grabbing big sister? If it's that last one, we'd say it worked!
